Step back in time and join us for a weekend full of nostalgic entertainment. Enjoy the music & fashions of the era, learn the history of World War 2 and take part in our act of remembrance for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
About the Event
SAME GREAT ATMOSPHERE, NEW FORMAT!
Yet again circumstances have changed and we need to re-format our event… But worry not, we’re still in Ingleton, we’re still happening & we’re still pretty great! Just bare in mind, if you have visited us before, locations are slightly tweaked from last years event.
Come along and join us for a weekend of old time nostalgia. Engross yourself in the atmosphere, enjoy the fashions and music of a bygone era whilst remembering the somber and poignant history of wartime. Visit our living history displays who can give you a feel for life on the frontline and much closer to home. See an array of impressive military and civilian vehicles, browse stalls of vintage curios and enjoy refreshments in the (hopefully) glorious sunshine! Watch our 40’s Wedding and visit our hairstylist to recreate the glamourous looks of the era. There is a spectacular line up of daytime entertainment, you can even learn how to dance along. Once you’ve learned some new moves you can try them out at one of our dances, or maybe you’d prefer to watch the parades and see some familiar faces.
After you’ve done all of that you will probably be ready for some refreshments, our team run ‘The Regiment’ bar if you fancy a tipple, or if you’re in need of a butty and a brew the pop-up café at the Community Centre have you covered. All funds from these go back into our future events or to support the continued running of Ingleborough Community Centre.
Ingleton 1940s Weekend is a non profit event organised by a small team of dedicated volunteers. Our aim is to showcase our great village by creating an event that caters to all, whether you be young or old, local or visiting, enthusiast or just someone looking for a good day out! Because of this Ingleton 1940s Weekend is free to attend! We only charge at our ‘Opening Shindig’ & ‘Saturday Swing’ Dances. We hold a raffle at the event and you can find donation buckets located around the village if you wish to make a contribution. Over the year we host all sorts of fundraisers including jumble sales, cake stalls and quiz nights.
